Is there a way that I can have a camera icon pop up as soon as I plug my camera into my computer's USB port. I guess it would work very similar to how avedesk mounts the system drives and displays them when the drive is present.
I tried to get the drive system to work with avedesk, but couldn't locate my camera to mount.
Anyone know how I might do this??

This one is, as such, an interesting issue.
Unless a camera isn't detected as an USB-Thumb- (or Stick-) Drive,
you can't expect it to appear like a network share or anything like that.
Some cameras may allow you to access its memory as a drive, but
this needs some vendor supplied software I won't risk guessing about.
Same issue applies to cellular phones, whose flash memory can sometimes be
mounted as a drive or, as in crappy Siemens software, as a mocked up
namespace extension.
Since the OS possibly detects the camera as a TWAIN source, you should
look for a general scanner desklet.
One might also think of a PDA- Synch desklet...
To make a long reply longer: there is some development in AveDesk about so
called modules, who aren't desklets but invisible monitor programs explicitly
for the likes of this situation. The two variants I know of catch dropped shortcuts
on the desktop, create a shortcut desklet and another one does the same with
mounted drives. Again, these modules don't poll (repeatedly ask) for some
device change, media arrival / removal etc, instead they are notified by AveDesk
or subscribe to a Windows hardware event mechanism.
Your request might be addressed at some time in one of these, but not in AveDesk
itself.

Erm, he wasn't even requesting a feature, just whether or not if it was possible for the app to do it.
I could get my camera pinned to the desktop using PidlShortcut. The camera is a PowerShot, so it doesn't mount as a Drive, but as a Camera. The only issue to me, is that the mounted linked desklet stays alwas at the desk, wheter the camera is plugged or not. Even when the system dismounts the camera (It goes away from "My Computer"), the desklet shows it still.
I hope this is of use to Pixarman (tough this topic is rather old lol)
And I'd like to add a new question.
Is there a way to do the mounted desklet to pop in-out of the desk, when the camera mounts in-out? I mean, just as Pidl does it with Pendrives, for example.
