Post About Your Lcd.

Within the next few weeks Im getting a new X800 and replacing my second monitor with a 15" LCD. I've never owned an LCD, so I want input from the community:

What do you like about your LCD?

What do you dislike about your LCD?

How much was your LCD?

Where'd you buy your LCD?

How does your LCD show games?

What else can you tell me that would be useful?

I'll probably make this upgrade in the next two - three weeks, tops.

BTW, Im going with ATI because freaking nVidia cards are too big for my SFF case!

hp 1702 lcd.

likes:

large 17" screen

lightweight

cheap (biggest point)

lots of features

easy to use onscreen display

dislikes:

no swivel

contrast/brightness calibration isn't as good as i'd like

bought from hp.com, small/medium business for $199, free shipping (awesome deal that i posted here, among other places).

lcd shows games perfectly fine. never had a problem.

likes:

large 17" screen with good res (1280x1024)

good design

relatively cheap (650 Canadian when I got it..most are around that price here)

like the auto button that fixes screen and such (most have this now too)

very good specs, especially 16ms response time

dislikes: havn't come across anything I don't like.

Image is prefectly fine in games: no ghosting or anything like that. Only thing sometims is it's really dark in places in games (darker than when i played on a crt). but that's probably cause i don't play with the settings..i just use the auto.

One thing I'd recommend is that you go with at least a 17" not a 15. 15's suck cause their max res is 1024x768.

I actually wont be playing games on it... thats reserved for my main CRT. The LCD will mainly act as a place for docklets, spreadsheets and Firefox while I work in Acrobat and CAD on the CRT.

The gaming question was mainly to see if an LCD was ghosting.
