Aqua-Soft ForumsIn short my site is a way for me to display my work to others on the web that would like to see it. Everytime I release something under the catorgories of Wallpaper,3d lanscapes, Flash Animations, and also Logos that I make for other people and just plain general graphic design I will add it to my site. And I will add it to my blog and give a brief desciption of the file. Sometimes I might even post comments of my life if it's something funny or exciting that happens (hardly ever in my life... 
). The site is in accosiaction with PC Technica.net and is also hosted by them. Enough babiling, here is the link CLICKY

Thanks! Finally a positive reply thats on topic. But the site's bg is a light shade of grey with a white background box for the text. So why do you see it in black?

@babypapichulo: I'm not sure if you quite understand the concept of a portfolio... It's to show of professional works to potential clients, not show off signatures and avatars you've created for forum members...
To be quite frank, that site is tripe on so many levels that I don't have the time to list them.

Nothing there is a avator of forum members or signatures. I am showing off my work so I do consider it a "portfolio" if it's not that then can you please suggest a more appropiate page title. note: that page shows off all my work..that I dont release here or simply wanted to add it there because I really liked it.

I stand corrected - the "logos" section of your portfolio page just looks like a bunch of avatars that other members have used at Aqua-Soft... Perhaps this is because they're "logos" you've created for them?
Either way, I hope, for your sake, you're not hoping to garner clients and contracts based on your site... I'm no designer, and even I can see that what you've got there isn't particularly professional...
Oh, and why in the nine hells have you used Flash for your navigation links?

Come on Stevie, give the guy a break. I admit one or two areas of the site do need a bit of work, but over all I rather like it. The design is good, and it works well. He's clearly put a lot of effort into it, so I can understand him being rather annoyed at being told his work is "tripe on so many levels" <_

I was wondering the same. Since i don't have flash installed, the site isn't too functional

Now I'll agree with the others but add a little more.
Why use Flash-only links when you've posted a thread saying Flash is bad?
That is a simple layout. You don't need tables when you could go XHTML/CSS.
Dont pay any attention to them man. Your site rocks, and you
obviously did put alot of effort into it. I think though since you are
using flash for the buttons on the side maybe it would be better to
make them animated or fade in / out. THat way you could take
advantage of the flash rather then just having it sit around.

the concept is ok, but those arent so much logos as they are banners.
The fonts are pretty inconsistent, sometimes too large, sometimes too small.
your flash stuff, no offense but isnt that pretty basic flash tutorial type stuff?
I mean is this a CV website, or just something to show your freinds.
This is why I used Flash for the navi, I wanted to use mouse over color changes...and I used tables because I dont know xhtml nor enough css to use it. I only know a little css enough to mod one that is already there...I hope you guys understand, Not everyone knows alot of webdesign like you guys., I am not EVER planning to make money from webdesign. I want to become a graphic designer making walls and logos and such for companies....this is why I have a portfolio section. Displaying the work. And the Flash I made is not from tutorials. Go to my links section, there isn't any tutorials there showing how to make what I made. Those are mine 100% original 3D flash work. If it sucks then I am sorry to have botherd you guys and I dont want to watse anymore of your time.
Also the reson for a SIMPLE clean site is because I have many firends that are 56k'ers and I wanted them to go to my site and see my work and post on my blog's life comments etc., and my site is a PERSONAL site nothing professional that I'm planning to make money off of yet. I am far from ready for that.
I think I owe you an apology, babypapichulo - your site, whilst not up to my (exceedingly high) standards, isn't all that bad, for a personal site...
It's just that, this morning (when I posted in this thread previously), I was having a bad morning both with lots of rubbish being posted on A-S (all that "The Grapist" stuff, for example), and I just ended up being rather harsh in a few posts here at A-S...
That said, you could still improve your site in many ways, even if you didn't go to the extent of making it fully XHTML/CSS2 compliant and Section 508/WAI Accessible...
For example, lose the Flash-based navigation links - you can very simply acheive mouseover colour changes in CSS - just Google for CSS image rollovers (or just look here).
As for being 56K friendly, maybe you should lose some of the imagery - your page has 128K of images which would take quite a while (a few minutes?) to download on a 56K connection... The worst offender is your banner bar, weighing in at 67.4Kb, followed by the animated rgbutton1.gif, at 49.6K...
As for XHTML/CSS2, with a page as light as your homepage (roughly 10K), it probably wouldn't be worth your time and effort to convert to XHTML and CSS2, unless you really felt the need to do it, or wanted to learn about their use.

Franco, i think its a good idea that you took out the flash navigation, another thing i would recommend would be not making the text centered in your content area on your home page. Perhaps left /right / even justified, but centered makes it look fumbled and un organized.

just goes to show that flash can be used for better or for worse...
I know there isn't anyone who gives a **** what I say but it seems like the constructive cristicism is just a little bit harsher than the norm for AS. I'm sure there is room for improvement but the kids excited and been talking about if for a couple of weeks now so I think people should just keep that in mind sometimes when being critical. I like your site Babypapichulo.........I'm impressed especially considering your age......I know I wasn't doing anything close to that type of work when I was your age and neither were many other people on this messageboard so keep up the hard work!!!
