I just wanted to add some info on this. I think you should change the state of the start button when pressed. I think it should be the original metallic grey instead of white as you put it (or some other color). Also, since the banner at the top of the start menu is already black, why don't you make the program places and the all programs a white color instead of make the entire start menu black (again, maybe some other color). Just suggestions

It's pretty useless to make a version with the difference only being the window glyphs. You can easily reshack them and make your own version.
