80% zero posters ?????? REMOVE

#193867

delete meh

#193868

Geeze. Yeah, I agree. Weed out the hoverers. :moon:

#193871

But some of those people will be lurking to see how the place works. I hung around for a while before posting. Now you have to sign up to see all the forums, some will be lurking constructively. But maybe not all 15,000.

#193874

And what about 'active' users?

I think, some of that 15156 just can't speak eng.

Some of them just have nothing to say...

REMOVE - it's not the best idea.

//Alex

#193876

why does it even matter?

#193877

Well, I'm not a zero-poster, but I don't post here frequently: I'm one of those guys who just have nothing to say :)

Wizard[WA]'s right, btw: many people just don't know english too well to post.

#193879

You guys are a trip.

You gripe that guest access is on, so for a few months we turned it off, which required people to register, then we turned em back on then you guys gripe about the 0 posters. Who cares! lol.

BTW some of those 0 posters posts could have been removed. So they could of had at least 1 or 2 posts.

#193894

lol. Thats life Tim :P

#193895

I say if they have 5months without no post..remove...this site is huge and 0posters just waste member names for those that deserve it.. :(

5 months is WAY more than enough time to get used to the program..not even a damned thank you! to all those that have 1 year or so with 0 post.. **** YOU YOU USLESS ASS**** **** SUCKING *****!!!

They are really bad influence...they just came here to download others work but are to much of usless **** to say anything about it!

For all we know they sell our work! (excluding the crap I make that some consider work... >.< ) ..there. I said it! ...some poeple might of holded back...I didn't

#193909

Oh that's real nice. I am in favor of removing the zero posters, but only to clean up the site. I think you should purge the zero posters and have guest access (read-only, of course) on.

I thought that they are on right now. And why would people ***** about guest accounts? I don't see how that could affect us.

Well, I would like to point out the 1 validation pending from May 21, 2003.

Im speechless -_-

Im sorry but if I was a 0poster I would turn around and leave who wants to part of a community who rants at people if they aint got nothin to say maybe they cant post or just prefer to read and they deserve you ranting at them?

Where is the golden rule that you have to post to deserve a member name? Im with Tim... who cares!

Let me say this, that is a bug in IPB there are no users in the validating group, I've just checked in the admincp and there is nothing. Plus the forum deletes unvalidated users every week.

#193950

If someone wants to register one of the 0 poster accounts, they can if they ask, its been done before and will be done in the past.

*Twilight Zone theme plays*

#193953

seriously, why is this a matter to get upset about. people sign up to see what were about. i dont think deleteing there names AFTER they come here to dl someting or steal someting would help.

if some one clearly explains the negitive aspects of this maybe ill understand more. cuase right now, it dosn't sound like anything anyone should be concerned about.

edit:DO do DO do DO do Do do Doo (insert loud twilight zone noise here) haha

Sorry but I have to disagree with you...

Maybe all the 0 posters just know how to search the forums ;)

I mean, I'd rather prefer having 80% 0/1-digit posters than having 15000 people posting nothing but "Yay!!!1"/"Wow!!!1"/"You ownz!!" in every release thread...

Sorry if I offended someone somehow, but I just think that if I don't have anything really useful to add there is no point in making pointless replys...

#193969

Yay!!!1

err, what i mean to say is this thread is going south fast. im gonna alert a freandly mod. and see what they think

#193970

I'm sorry, but BabyPapigoufckyourself if they were to delete people who havnt posted... I think they should delete people who post and rant garbabge like you.

Who seriously cares if someone hasnt posted here, jesus christ, some people do have lives other than sitting in front of a computer and jacking off to pictures of anne nichole-smith (Fat Days).

Personally, as a lurker, I don't say anything unless I absolutley have to. Considering that I don't have anything to contribute in terms of applications, wallpapers, or extensive knowledge in the emulation area, why waste time posting "great, thanks alot" type posts? Sure, I could post "great wall/app/link" everytime, but that doesn't really contribute anything of worth to the community. Those members which have not posted anything so far are not leaching off this site, they arn't taking up a large amount of bandwith, so why remove them? Many of them are like me, people who just like to read the forums and attempt to mod there computers in order to make them nicer. I am not trying to direct this at anyone, but many of those "active" members are most active in the chit-chat section, and talk about non-aqua topics like "which PS2 game is the best?"...don't get me wrong, such posts are fine, but we shouldnt try to exclude 80% of the members because they havent posted. I suggest we turn the guest feature on, and allow them to read but not post, and if they really want to register, then let them do so. :(

Wise words; I was a lurker for a long time - simply because I feel posting useless comments would be a waste of everyone's time (and so; my first post was in fact a release of a small icon-set). Many lurkers quite possibly feel the same, and do not want to irritate or spam up the forum with three word replies to every release thread going.
