Is This Possible In Xp?

I would like to know is it's possible to have a windows shortcut than when clicked on can execute a keyboard macro or a hotkey shortcut?

I've looked around and can't really find anything.. any ideas?

Personally, I use Sharpkeys, but so far I haven't attempted to execute a program through a key...but it might be worth a shot :lol:Linky

lol.. 0 posts huh? yeah I think something is wrong there :) I have at least 2 or 3 :) Let me explain what I want this for. That should make things more clear. I've been using Stickies for a while now.. it's very a convenient program. And it's network support is very helpful for my roommate and I.

The program sets a hot key of windows-S to create a new note. I would like to have a shortcut in my dock that does the same thing. Sometimes it's just easier that way.

I tried poking around with windows scripting host but that seems to be a bit of a dead end. I'm no programmer so writing a docklet to replace the systray icon is out. :)

There's a 3% margin of error on all statistics made by Aqua-Soft. I could have sworn that was in the disclaimer.

Though we all know real men count from base 0.

Quickeys - I use it bits and bobs when I want to do multiple things from just one key. (Also great for binding multiple actions/keys/sequences for games... :D)

1. Double click the system tray icon to create a blank sticky.

2. Right click on the top area and choose "Save As..."

3. Save it as an STI file in the Stickies program folder.

4. Make a Dock shortcut that points to Stickies.exe, and use the new STI file as the argument.

Note that Stickies must already be running, and Networking must be enabled. Otherwise the shortcut won't do anything.

For more realistic looking Stickies, see my post HERE.
