Nationwide Internet Blackout?

Well this weekend up in maine i could get online but it was so slow that i couldnt even get on AIM. i checked trillian and it worked, bareley and noone was online! and usually everyone is on. the next day i was talking with some friends and they all use differnet dsl isp's (i use a maine service called TKA for dialup) they all said that they had the same problems. i heard from one of them that at the hospital they couldnt acces the networks and stuff because of a state wide internet blackout. im not sure if it happened nationwide or not but am i the only person who noticed?

wow that i so weird. i searched google a second ago and they said something happened with servers all across the nation, they got backed up with junk. some sort of "attack". i wonder if they know anything more?
