So how did you get the 128x128 desktop icons without DesktopX or a reg hack? And how do you guys get the "Free XXX GB" under the drives? It looks good. Is it possible to get a different font size for the desktop icons from the rest of the explorer? Damn, you guys do some sick stuff to your desktops!!!

maximus, there are many things that you could do to get closer. The first one is maybe get rid of some of thoose tray icons by hiding them, but the main thing is to go into object bar properties and set the icons to be spaced more... its in the arrangement tab and it says something about large spacing, with them so close together it is the first give away that i see.... but great work on everything else.

maximus I would love to have that Y'z Toolbar theme you have there, unless thats been done by rezhacking. Also would love to know how you got your address bar rounded!! Please any info (or files

That is a edited wb skin!! not just y'z toolbar!! same with the rounded address bar!! It's the bk on the theme that is edited!!
Well, I would love to have that theme!! But can someone convert it to a brushed look?
I tried Windows Blinds (again lately), but couldn't get it to look like my VisualStyles theme. Looked every where for a good theme/skin, but to no avail.

At the dtop above I do not used WB, I hate it..........
The ultra thin theme comes from a shellwm made by me.
At the toolbar I used xteq systems x-setup program to generate
a special toolbar pic background for winexplorer, ie, and
other progs.
In these spcial bgrnd pics I made the left side of the
rounded address bars, because the genuine win
does not let us to make rounded combo/list boxes
/I mean the left side/.
The right side of the addressbar is more siple.
I used stylebilder, to create them fully functional and resizable.
The so called /view/ button /I mean the long one/ was made
in the same way. By!!!!

You could link the graphic to a *.png using Samurize
Concerning litestep Icons, go to dt2 and look for Moshi's tutorials...
You can have your hardrive space displayed on your desktop using Samurize. You can also change the displayed font\colour\size\etc.
The only problem is you cant have shadows displayed under it.

My problem isn't with creating images or icons. But with the programing and "hacking" side of it! This is where my expertise is lacking. So if anyone can create an easy (ie. for dumies) tut. for doing rounded address bar/fields with lots of pictures, lol, that would be great!! The images I can do myself.

It's called miranda. Search for it in google and it should be the first hit. It's a small plugin-based messenger. The icons were made by me a while back and you can find a thread about them in the icons section of the board. If you need any help, my msn IM name - JoshABryant@hotmail.com
