[help]looking For Film Editing Program

Yeah, another topic. Anyway, I've been working on a film project and I've been using Windows Movie Maker for a while now; it really isn't that good, so I was wondering if anyone knew of any better free alternatives to it? Thanks for your help :D

your selection is not going to be great, there are not too many free, complete video editing suites...

what format audio/video are you going to be using?

#192181

I'm not sure, that's not something I've decided yet. It'll probably be either DivX or .wmv. Anyway, I'm not really looking for a complete editing suite; just something a little more advanced than Windows Movie Maker, with more effects and controls available. That sort of thing :)

the only thing with the sonic foundry is that it's trialware,

"This trial version will allow you to use all product features, except for export to certain formats that require third-party licensing (i.e. MPEG, MP3, and AC-3) and network rendering."

#192191

Hmmm, I suppose MPEG could have been useful but I'll give the trial a go and see if it's what I'm looking for :D

EDIT: Gah, OpenVIP keeps crashing on me. I had a look at the features and it's not really what I'm looking for; it seems mainly for applying effects. Thanks anyway though wookie :)

Adobe Premier is excellent i've heard, but it's 700$ :|

We don't discuss the subject of "borrowing" software.

There's no such thing. And since Adobe Premier is a very pricey and licensed piece of software, I doubt anyone would let one just "borrow" it. <_<

#192811

Indeed. Premier is waaaay out of my price and skill range :P

I didn't mean what you were refering to when i said borrowing, premier is expensive and it would be silly to buy it just to use it once, just trying to be helpful

I'm not accusing anyone of anything.

It's just highly unlikely that anyone would have that type of software lying about for the asking.

Usualy the only way to "try" something that expensive is to aquire a copy using less than honest means.

Sorry if I came off as a prick... it was not the intention. >.<

eh no problem, just took it the wrong way, had a bad day

let's just forget about premier :)
