[ann] A Emulation Game

well I downloaded this free program that allows me to make 2d based rpgs (Role Playing Games). Basiclly the idea here is that you start the game with a group of other characters (party) and go around doing missions and such that the game developer adds to the games database. This software is free and makes uses no language to code the game. All done in a designer like interface. I think this is a great idea.

So far this is what I got, the story in my HEAD not in the game

A group of companies named Aqua-Soft, OSX-E, Aqua-XP, and Style Suits have teams of people (the real mods and admins! :woot: ) that like to customize their OS (the game takes place in a digital world were anything is possible (like the matirx) ) and all the real forum admins and mods are teams named after the forums. And we all customize our OS and a horrible thing happens....A company called Microcough ownd by a evil leader called Bill Gays wants to shut down these sites. And they try to by making laws and HUGE OS updates the mess up our modded system files... :cry: And out job in the game is to go to the Microsoft I MEAN Micorcough head quaters and defeat those evil people using freeware that we have.. :smartass: :naughty: and then at the end all teams combine their energy and do a AQUA MEGA BLAST (kudos to Simon for making that name) and defeat the evil Bill Gays once and for all.

Please tell me what you guys think of this. First Id like to say I didnt even begin making the game yet. So do not expect this anytime soon. I am really busy with the 3rd version of my site and have very little time to do anything else. seeing as how my site will be done by the end of this week (hopefully) I will have time to do this after that. I must say that ALL help is greatly appreciated. The program is called RPG MAKER 2003 and it uses pngs and bitmaps, (we all know we will use pngs) for enviorments and characters...I would like to (if possible) collect around 4 to 10 desiners (no coders needed with this app) to make the images used for the game. As the team makes it we will each add to the games data base and send each other moddified parts. If the game gets very big then we will be forced to use torrents to distribute the game. No game title yet, so if ANY ONE HAS ANY IDEAS PLEASE FELL FREE TO POST THEM. post title ideas, story ideas. Please post as u wish.

BTW, software can only make 2d rpgs so every other type of game is out the window. And if we use bitmaps the game system requirements will be around 32 megs of video memory and 128 or 64 of system memory and a video card that supports 24 bit desktop colors. SO EVERY ONE WILL BE ABLE TO PLAY regardless of your systems perforamce.

Yeah, it's top of the PC charts in South Dakota.

I'd volunteer, under 2 conditions, i want to know the name of the software, i've used alot of em. And 2, I can only start helping when my laptop gets back from the toshiba repair service in ohio.

EDIT: nvm the first condition, i reread your first post. I can definatly help alot. I've fooled around with rpgmaker and i know how to make alot of things, including event programming, switches, variables etc.

My laptops supposed to be at my house by noon. Small idea, Maybe we can somehow figure out how to make the main characters name choosable? Like if some lurker wants to be in the name he selects the letters of his name and then the game remembers the main characters name as that.

this is an awsome idea, i love rpg's, i cant help u with the graphx, and all that, but i would love to help with the story.

i think seph should be a charicter, aka sephoroth. wizerd, with his magic wand. me with my sickle,simon with his offtopicness like every member that acutally comes here every day should play a roll in the game.

maybe make the plote be that the evil kingdom of microsoft is trying to make the world ugly. and the brave hero's from the land of aqua have to save the world. :naughty:

Sorry to say this but i think this should wait, Rpg Maker 2003 graphics suck. It takes your images, and then stretches them X4 making the game look really crappy. RPG Maker XP will be released soon in japan, and the translation will soon follow. And rpgxp uses way better graphics.

Did u read everything I put in my first post...Microsoft is Microcough, and Bill Gates is Bill Gays....the story is under constuction of course...you guys here can help contirbute to it..next week I will get together the people that said they will help and begin making it! YAY

EDIT :Fine by me.....RPG XP might be better in terms os graphics but what about everything else ?
