Convering Mac To Windows

When I download OS x icons in SIT format, I put them in Stuffit, and extract the icons. Once extracted, they are 0 KB. I found out that I should go to Stuffit options > Cross Platform > and choose never, always , never. Is this right? I also found out that i have to rename the icons to *.icns.

You should have a look at Axialis' homepage (i.e. the homepage of Iconwworkshop), they have a tutorial for converting, a comment about StuffIt is included.
