Msn Messenger 6.2 Help

I am having problems with MSN Messenger 6.2. I recently downloaded it. My sign-in name appears and when I click on it, it automatically goes right into Messenger and shows my contacts. I want it to be where I have to type in my password since I have children who use my computer. I went to tools, options, and cleared the check marks from all the appropriate places, and still, it doesn't work. Any help would be appreciated.
