I don't know if that's possible w/ the current rainlendar skinning engine.
I use a program called DESKCAL which does the trick. See screenshot>>>

Don't know about DeskCal myself ... I did a search on Google and only found Japanese pages referring to an app that draws a horizontal calendar on top of your wallpaper.
At any rate, if you get Rainmeter, you can download a config file from HERE that will give you the horizontal calendar. Moshi has some wicked skins for both Rainlendar and Rainmeter.
The horizontal calendar config for Rainmeter doesn't have the functionality of Rainlendar with the reminders and todo etc, but if all ya want it a skinned calendar, it'll work too.
