Here is an example of increasing the capabilities of a MacOS dock. Wouldn't it be good if we had this capability in our docks?

its a handy little app if you have alot of icons and cant fit them all in one dock.
Myself, I have them all in one dock following Apple's placement logic (finder - internet stuff - media - other apps - trash). Since I organise the icons a specific way, I dont have difficulty opening the app I want.
But still, some people like to be super-organized. If you're one of them, this is a great lil' app!

w/ everyone in a single dock, it makes it seem simplier
and isn't it so cool to set magnification so high, and have the original dock icon size small
when you scroll over it, it looks cool 
If you run ObjectDock, a program called "Dock Theme" can let you save dock themes (backrounds/icons). I forget where it is, maybe someone else can tell you.
So who knows the link to Dock Theme ? Will this trigger switching to a dock with different links or just a prog. to switch themes?

Here is another app. .... I think people here are very slow in catching-on to a good idea. Talk about think different. If anything, it is more like don't talk to me, I'm too busy buring my head in the sand. I don't know how to think differently.

Also, with DockExtender's MultiDock feature, you can toggle between different Dock configurations, giving you access to those applications and folders that you need, without the need to cram them all into one Dock.

The "Dock Theme" does not allow you to switch docks on the fly but it is a "theme changer" that requires to quit the dock app and re-start. I'm looking for something like DockFun or DockSwap which with one click it switches to a different dock. Ideally it would look like the present dock hides and another pops in place with new links and icons. Thanks again for your search and post!

you can do the above for yzdock and mobydock for sure, though i don't know about for objectdock(never tried). you could do this when videomann posted this thread.
1. duplicate your dock folder. ie: yzdock1, yzdock2, yzdock3, etc.
2. set up each dock with the icons you want, save.
3. set up a 'switcher' icon on each dock.
4a. get carlospr's macrorunner. It times the shutdown of a program and the startup of another to avoid for example mobydock screwing up if your trying to open and close at the same time.
(you can use it to also change a whole load of other theme apps at the same time so that it changes your other themeparts too...ie, samurize config, obbar,etc. don't think you can do it with avedesk haven't tried)
Link your dockchanging icon in each dock to macro 1, macro 2, etc. = you can switch between two docks, or a longer chain of docks (macrorunner is free for 2 macros, and 10$ for full macros, so the chain will cost while 2 is free-might be more free now, i haven't updated for awhile and he's changing the program style.)
4b. use macrorunner, but have the shortcuts linked through kkmenu (or maybe a obbar menu, like crni's obbar theme lists on his obbars), and your dockswitching icon on each dock will be linked to kkmenu so that it pops up with a list of available dock themes when you click your icon.
no matter how you cut it, its all abit labour intensive especially if your using a task section and using non-default icons.
yzdock switches quite nicely-very fast. No task too, so its fast to set up.
mobydock is not as nice as the changeover is a bit slow(you have to delay it more too).
objectdock? dunno
edit: dockfun does look handy though.
edit2: 'nest' your dock folders so you don't get a mess :6
in objectdock you can switch out the your themes in the settings..
well at least when i last checked..
im pretty sure a prog like dockfun can be easily adapted to objectdock more then y'z...
since with y'z you would have to shut it down and replace the ini file.. and start it back up..
