[help]different Users, Different Icons?

Hi people,

I was just wondering if Windows is able to do different icons for different users...

I tried using Iconpackager but it didnt work... :(

Err.. And I looked it up but and they say that you can't because the users share the same .dll where the icons are stored...

To the best of my knowledge, there is no way to set different system icons for different users. They're all stored in a single DLL file, and you can't specify different users to read different DLLs.

You can do it with IconPackager. In each user's Start Menu\Startup folder (not the All Users one), add a shortcut like this:

"C:\Object Desktop\IconPackager\IconPackager.exe" /a "C:\Hyral's Stuff\Panther.iptheme"

You might want to put that shortcut on each user's desktop instead, since logging on/off may not run it, and there's no need to run it if you were the last person to use the computer and the first to turn it back on.

Edit: Sometimes applying a new IconPackager theme messes up the order or arrangement of your desktop icons. Just so you know...

I have noticed that if your account and others are below administrator you can change the icons in them with a program like iconpackager independently from each other\the admin but if you go change the admin it'll change all of them as well.
