[question] Saving Music Vidoes?

Well I dont know if this will be considered piracy ect. if so modds sorry for asking but I like watching the music vidoes from the itunes store but I dont like waiting for them to load. I was woundering if it is possible to save them the my computer? I googled this idea and it seems there is a very simple script for os x that allows you to save them but I could not find anything for windows.

Since you're talking about videos from the iTMS (and QT videos in general) then you have 2 possible options -- neither are a guarantee (By the way this goes for using IE or one of it's derivatives -> MyIE2, AvantBrowser, etc.):

* Get QT Pro there should be an arrow at the end of the movie's progress indicator that gives you the option of Saving as a movie, if that's the case then you're set.

* Scour your temporary internet files (cache) folder. This is normally located in "C:\Documents and Settings\Your_UserName_Here\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5". I prefer doing this from a command prompt window by cd'ing into said directory and doing a "dir *.mov /s" and seeing what I can find; usually I can find the *.mov file I need and then a quick cd into the corresponding directory and "copy *.mov C:\" yields a decent result. <--- this last method also works well with *.swf (flash) files.

Good Luck!

you can open your temp file folder (mentioned by gillbates), and then start the movie, and you'll see a new .tmp file created (not a .mov file but it is really).

I tried copy/pasting it, but it won't let you while itunes is 'using it', and once you stop 'using it' (ie. change pages in itunes), the file is automatically deleted.

using cmd prompt didn't work for copying either, though i didn't try killing explorer .exe to see if that might work.

its pretty stupid they don't let you save easily... it is a commercial after all.

i figured it out if you kill the power once the video finshes playing you can rename the tmp file when you reboot it GillBates and realitybath thanks for the help

Thats gotta be the most tedious way to get videos ever!!.

Try this.. http://handyrecovery.com/

After a video finished downloading (the bar is done).

Have handy recovery scan your drive and go to the temp folder. Recover that file then rename it...
