[help]****ie

Hi there,

I just found out about the fabulous world of Win XP Maccifiying and i think its just great. Its given my computer a whole new feel. I have currnelty downloaded AquaDock and StyleXp and have applied the Panther theme thanks to a friend, but i was wondering what other applications there were to make my PC have an even more maccy feel. I was thinking of some icons for the dock which looks just like the mac ones, maybe the same screensaver that macs have, but i have no idea, anyone got any suggestions about what i should get next?

Thanks in advance, and thanks for this delicious new experience,

Laurence

Try browsing through the AveApps subforum, Alilm subforum and the other deveopers...

We all started from nothing, this is full of info on aquafiying, have a deep search :D (it is almost as good as deep fried cheese)

I suggest you to start here.

And welcome to Aqua-Soft! :)

perhaps that thread should be moved to or at least linked in the 'important a.s. information'... i think it may do more good being in there, catches the attention where it says 'read this now!!'

1. don't use stylexp. if you want to use msstyles, use the uxtheme patch. i posted one for sp1 here: http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?show...117160&hl=patch

2. don't use aquadock. it's an illegal rip of y'z dock. plus you won't be able to use docklets. use y'z dock (even though distribution is prohibited), objectdock, or mobydock.

3. have you considered changing icons? iconphile is a good choice: http://www.virtualplastic.net/scrow/iphile.html

4. try objectbar if you want a more accurate finder bar replacement.

5. reshack system files or use some pre-modded ones to change icons, toolbar buttons, and dialogs.

6. definitely read that list of mods page pe8er posted. :)

7. have fun!
