Btx, Em64t, Dual-core, And Hyperthreading

If you don't know what all of this is, search the internet for it.

hmmm hell no.

AMD has said that it does not have plansfor BTX and i just think it's another dumb standard to force us to switch mobos and cases again. besides, there's no way i'm buying an Intel processor right now.

plain stupid. ATX is fine :P

Your wrong (except for the AMD stuff) BTX is a new case spec that has cooler running parts in mind. The Prescott Pentium 4s have heat issues that BTX supposedly remedies, and I'm not talking about small heat issues either. Now, imagine the same heat issues, except in dual core cpus. It would be double trouble for the cpu because dual core cpus will have 2 cpu cores in one which means this is not another dumb sandard to force us to swich mobos and cases, it actually has meaning.

And when are you releasing your über OS X emulator then InuYasha? <_

#188038

You forgot the people who dont want to pay outrageous prices for processors that use pillaged instruction sets for 64 bit, run way too hot so intel decided to push its new design on everyone despite the fact that unamed other cpus wont be able to preform with the ram located so far away from the cpu which forces case manifactures to design two of each case, and have two diffrent modles for each case, who want the fastest cpus out there (by a long shot may i mind you), and who want 64bit now. (aka AMD people) Put me down in that vote catagory.

@Menge AMD cant use BTX weither they wanted to or not

edit: oh i forgot people who are sick of intel overhyping preformance gains and restricting overclocking with there newest chipsets.

Its finished. I'm not going to make a release though, I would be sued by apple because this thing uses some of thier hardware. Besides, your better off buying a mac or using pearpc because this would cost you more than a 2.5GHz G5 at with 512 megs of ram without a monitor (this thing has 512 megs).

@lostspyder: actually cases can be made with both ATX and BTX (theres already one just like that that is publicly available). Besides with the so-called peformance advantages and dual-core technology, why would there be any need to overclock? The cpu any ways. The ram modules are not against air flow in this new spec. They are now verticle, meaning not only does this spec only benefit the cpu, but it also benifits all of the other parts of the system also. The north and south bridges are located for better performance also.

as i said : "i think". my opinion. besides, we don't need a case in that the only difference is that it's flipped and ram, cpu and gpu are re-located in order for the cpu and gpu to share a common collumn of air flow in the case. there's no need for such thing.

i know. if i'm not mistaken it's cause it needs the memory to be too far from the processor core, right?

exactly. The sad part of it is either intel said screw intel were changing the indrustry, and we dont give a rats ass about AMD, or the engineers didnt even take time to look at AMD. Both arnt very good prospects imho.

Everything has been positioned for better performance. I've seen pictures in Maximum PC.

@Ludge: I would show you a picture of it, but I don't have a digital camera to take a picture of the main unit. The GUI is really simple: OS X in a window with File, Options and Help in its menu bar. One more thing, This is not "Lets talk about Maculator!!!!" this is a poll (and debate I guess) called "Btx, Em64t, Dual-core, And Hyperthreading". In other words STOP BEING OFFTOPIC!!!!!
