Mobydock Radeon Fix Well I Think

well every one as you can see i'm new but i'v reading your post's for a wild

and feel like doing some thing good for the day so i bring ati fix and what Moby was

talking about was right the DMA not enable so i enable it

and here it is

and ya it's the new CATALYST 3.1 diver

To see if DMA mode is enable use powerstrip to see card info

and ya i think ati limit the fps on the desktop animation

witch is control by ati2mtag file.

What can I say

I installed Catalyst 3.1:

1.- Overall performance in 2D about 25% LESS

2.- Same 3D performance. Some glitches, artifacts and sometimes crash

I had to downgrade to my old 02.3 (6166) drivers downloaded at windowsupdate, not the ATI but Microsoft released.

I think the "backward" compatibility of this drivers really sux. Maybe with 8500 or up will fix some bugs and improve performance, but with my olddy laddy (Radeon 64 DDR Vivo) not at all

BTW, THANK YOU for the information dude

P.S.: with this board I can play Battlefield 1942 at 1024 x 768 full optimizations on. Max Paine at 1600 x 1200, full motion with no slow downs.

Moby test:

27 fps with 03.1 WOW!!!!! <_<

18 fps with 02.3

well to tell you the driver as more than just dma enable in it.

the driver that i post will give better performance on all radeon

card because right now i'm at a frend house and she have Radeon

7200 32mb ddr and it's work for her real well i and the other hand

have Radeon9000 non pro same goes for me and my other frend with Radeon7000 32mb sdr

well on the desktop it work's but benchmark and games con't say

so you tell me

Well, I play half-a-life Couter-Strike mostly:

02.3 = 100 fps (this is the limit that cs can offer in test mode)

03.1 = 45 fps

In 2D (XP desktop) i told u, for me it doesnt fuction at all. Indeed, versions higher than 6166 doesnt work at all

Ahh, another little thing: If I install 02.3 ATI driver then my windows crash. I need to install windowsupdate 02.3 to fuction properly on my system. All versions prior to Catalyst work as well too.

Maybe my XP is ****ed, I dont think so but "All its possible in the twilight zone"
