Powerbook Ram

Say I get a 1.33ghz 15" machine, stock with 1 256 stick (which takes 1 of 2 slots)...

Is it possible to remove the stick, and replace it with a crucial 512 stick (way cheaper) and then add an additional 512 stick from crucial?

I went to the Apple store today and they told me that the RAM is not soldered on, but I have heard differently on forums and such.

My question to you: Is the RAM that comes with the powerbook removeable?

I have that exact same machine in front of me now. There are two ram slots. There is no ram soldered to the board. Adding a single 512 to the existing 256 makes one hell of a difference, I'd suggest you work with that for a while before adding the second 512 because you might feel you don't need it. Any more questions you have for this machine, ask away.

Ooh, and a note, if you do buy one, get the store to open it up and turn it on before you pay, look for dead/stuck pixels, that way, while you may develop them later (I've got a red one in the corner now), you won't have them to start with.
