what are any limitations of these express versions (if any)? has anyone tried them out?

) that the "Express" part means it only comes with stuff for a specific language. (There are C++, VB, C#, ... Express versions)

Don't worry, Steve isn't a real admin, he just gets to flash the red badge while he cleans up the board organization.

i gathered that part, i figured it might mean it's a "slimmed" down version... e.g. like acrobat... you have the full version, then a free version that you can only read pdf files.

I guess there aren't any--not any that I notice (no messages saying "you can't do that!", etc.), except that it's still in beta of course.

I got to be an admin by being a dilligent, hard-working, consistent contributor to the community. Ok, so I've not contributed skins or apps or whatever, but two things I have contributed, even if I say so myself, are maturity and organisation.
Unfortunately I have to put up with the evils of dialup due to a lack of spending cash, so I was wondering how large is the actual install? I downloaded the installer, but was wondering how large VB express was?
Crap, right when my computer breaks this gets released. So i go and download it on my parents comp, couldn't download on my other one since my brother fried our router...and it can't run on any os lower then Win 2000... :rant:

i need it but i dont have the net on my pc how do i transfert it form a computer to the other.

Thats certantly better than VS.NET 2003...that thing eats space like you wouldn't believe...msdn library does too.

it's amazing how VS.Net 2003 eats up space. VS.Net 2003 in itself is 3 cds and MSDN is another 3 cds (or alltogether one dvd depends on what you get)
what i was talking about that was 195mb is only the vb part... not the whole suite. i'm sure if you add the C++, C#, J#,etc. the installation will be quite large as well.
is their a whay i could instal it on the pc i'm on right now and then copy it back to my pc @ home ?

Burning CDs /DVDs? A portable HDD? An iPod? Rip the hard disk out of the computer you download it to and install the disk as a slave on your home machine? Sod it, maybe even a neural interface so you can carry it in your head

i sw that they were giving out full version to people who watched some movies online that they made but due to to great demand they stopped giving it away,... <_
