How To Add Items To The Right Panel Of Start Menu

wondering if there is a way to add an item to the right panel of the start menu.

Normally only My Music, My Documents, Recent Documents, etc can be added to the right panel of the Start Menu in Win XP.

If self-customized folder can be added to it shown as sub-menu, that would be amazingly useful.

I thought doing some tweaks in registry may achieve it, but don't know how.

I have never add a folder to it before, only a link. Perhaps the editor proggie does not work for folders?
