A Little Help Please?

hello to all the smart people out there

i need some help. i have to write this satirical paper for my english class. i have written so many papers this summer, i'm out of original ideas! so, i was wondering if you guys could perhaps give me an idea. i was going to try to stear the topic towards computers or something like that. nobody in my class knows ANYTHING about computers. (got lots of interesting stories about that too) so if you guys have an idea on something i could statirize, i would really appreciate it!

How about something relating to one of the following:

Usage of web browsers (discuss IE/Firefox/Safari/Whatever)
Virii and their proliferation because of dullards
Security
Web standards
Computer usage habits

Not sure how much use any of those are, but if I'm on the right sorta track, I'd be happy to help...

you could mention viruses...and well...the first virus was released in the 70s (1979 i think) by a USC student

Satirical? Do it on software advertising. they almost all lie to some degree.

ie. pick a company that offers trials;

1. find their advertising/feature description.

2. find download(various if there are multiple ones)

3. go to the comments section... quote the funniest/most profane outraged 'customers'

4. compare 3 to 1.

Or you could do a 'report' that "seriously" reports on the press releases/statements (explaining the "logical" reasons for their arguments) of the various spyware/spam reps. or owners when they've reacted to possible new restrictive legislation. :moon:

theres also a problem with tech support. companies that offer 24/7 tech support most often get them from india....they cant speak english, dont know @!%@ about computers, etc etc. its horrible trying to explain to someone whod oesnt even know english a NETWORK problem. neways...itd be a great topic
