[help] Annoying Internet Connection Problem

i have been accessing our wireless linksys router with my laptop for some time now, but lately its been inconsistent. it seems that i have to wait about a minute or two after my computer boots up for it to recognize the connection. distance/range is not a problem, and the isp is fully functional. i can only narrow it down to a hardware problem, but if it ends up working after a minute, then im not sure whats wrong with it. im not an expert in this field so any help is appreciated.

well tahts actually normal. mine does that too, i have a wireless netgear one. oh and what security protocol do you use? if you have WPA-PSK security available on that router use it. if you dont, use 64bit security, as 128 bit sends a LOT more data and wastes precious mbps if you load your network down. besides, 128 bit is not much better than 64 bit security wise...
