Help: Tibook 667 Graphics Driver Problems

Here's the problem:

My 15" Tibook 667 displays the screen with 1 1/4 inch border at the right edge and an inch border at the bottom of the screen,( the bottom half reflects the top of the screen). The display panel shows 1152 x 768. I've run Techtools Pro and everything checks out. The machine is running panther right now with all the updates. BTW the machine works fullscreen with OS 9.2.1 but displays the same problem as above with OS 9.2.2.

The fix i use sometimes is to delete the AppleNDRV folder then "sudo touch" the extensions folder, this gets me full screen at 1152 x 768, but with constant freezing, lack of control for brightness and the inability to put the machine to sleep (machine goes down but backlight stays on).

If i run "sudo kextcache" after "sudo touch" and i reset the nvram in Open Firmware the screen resolution jumps to 1280 x 854(full screen) with the same problems as above fix.

The screen properties in Open firmware show 1280 x 854.

Anyone have any other ideas/tips/tweaks/links i can use?

ya bring it into apple store! sounds like its a internal problem not software realated. altho iv never heard or had this problem, id bring it in for diagnostics.
