Gotta' search for these things, Lou, haha, we won't always be here for you. Anyway, I have two Winamp servers running (one at my work LAN and one at home to mess around on). It's illegal to broadcast without certain licenses though, so you need to be careful (my server is password protected and has a max of 1 user, me, I also have legal music cause im the best kid in the world.)

I might check out shoutcast, but now that I think about it, I am running on a laptop, so it might not be a good idea since i move it around and get disconnected a lot, haha.

if you get disconnected a lot you shouldnt be running a server for anything...period. trust me. im in college...i wanted to have a game server but no one woudl go bewcause i had set hours and wasnt 24/7. you should invest in a $200 system thats raelly old that you can use to be a server...just load it down with ram and put a crappy vid card, case, fan, and a tiny 1 gb hard drive in it. put a 1 ghz athlon (get one thats before the thunderbird came out) and put some good quality ram in there...about 256 mb of ram. ull use a lot of that ram up...and use no monitor for it...the whole system will be very cheap. just set it up so you can flip it on and get to work!
