[link] Pear Pc Settings Changer...with Gui

I just downloaded PearPC v .2.0 and it looks great! it runs about as fast as i'd expect....and it only supports 2 network cards...but oh well. it is a MIGHTY good emulator, and i can't believe they were able to do that.

anyways, i found a program with a GUI that changes the settings for you. i mention 'with a gui' because if you don't use this program you have to edit the text file which can be quite confusing....choosing the amount of ram you have requires you to know hex.

anyways, enough blabbing...here's the link.

http://peargui.emaculation.com/

the mac emulator that can emulate osx is found here if you forgot to notice the news page:

http://pearpc.sourceforge.net/

of course, you will have to go to best buy or www.apple.com to buy yourself a version of mac os 10...os 9 cannot be emulated and 7 / 8 must be emulated with a different proggie.

have fun, people!

PS: .3 is in pre...it will be out soon. if you are willing to risk it, you can download more current (yet not fully stable) versions here:

1) PearPC isn't a Mac emulator. It's a PPC emulator, the type of CPU. There are other types of machines that use PPC processors other than Macs.

2) You should be able to use OS 9, but I doubt anyone is going to try too hard when they can run OS X.

3) You should be able to run any PPC compatible version of Mac OS 8 (8.5+ isn't it?). System 7 won't run because it's 68k only I believe.

PearGUI has been announced here before....

it is one a three GUI programs available

There is a web based one here

http://www.iamthecheese.com/php/pearpc.php

and PearPC Configuration Program here

http://ppccp.sphosting.com/

the v0.3pre is not a pre-release of the next version it is a CVS nightly build that is created from the latest release with experimental feature to make thier way into the final release. The SDL build has also hit v0.3pre.

well it is a mac emulator. it does emulate the PPC architecture but for OUR purposes it is a mac emulator.

on the pear pc website, they say specifically that they cannot emulate os9. go read their website.

.03pre...well..pre must mean pre-release. what else can it mean? and yes, they do have nightly builds and all, and you mentioned the word experimental, which denotes pre-release. a release is something that is final, not experimental.

why must you reply if your post is just over technicalities? and notice the title. its not that im showing everyone what pearpc is. i posted that as a sidenote...but i found a cool settings changer.

i am trying to help the community, people like you only want to make good people leave.

There's a difference between correcting and critisizing. And calling PearPC a "Mac Emulator" is like me calling Virtual PC a Dell Emulator...-_-

And on the PearPC FAQ is actually says that no-one has succeeded. Unless you can quote it exactly, it does not say you CANNOT emulate OS 9.

Addition: You're not emulating the OS. You're running the OS on emulated hardware. <_<

1) Your a little late pal, everyone knows about this already.

2) It's a PowerPC emulator, not a Mac emulator. I don't care what your using it for, it's a PPC emulator. End of story. Your wrong.

3) It doens't say you can't emulate OS 9, it says you no one has succeeded. Wrong again.

4) Stop spamming up with this useless, as it is now, information.

fyi system 7 is actually ppc compatible (i have an old 66 mhz ppc near me that came with system 7.2 i think. it IS sytem 7, though as i used it when i got os8 all messed up)

Yes you're right there, System 7.1.2 was the first PPC compatible version. Where as Mac OS 8.2+ are PPC only.

So technically you should be able to run System 7.1.2+, Mac OS 8.x, Mac OS 9.x and Mac OS X.x, whether they'll run correctly is another matter.

Your right correcting its a PPC emulator if it was a Mac emulator Apple would be on thier ass! Not everybody here uses it for Mac I know a few people who have tried other uses such as myself.

Again technically your right but I know for a fact the original 0.1 and 0.1.2 versions and I think the CVS 0.2pre cannot run any version of Mac under 10.2 'Jaguar' whether this applies to any of the latest versions v0.2 and later I could not say but technically again correct.

@noefexx we were merley correcting errors for other readers. In both cases we were right PPC emulator and the 0.3pre is a pre CVS it has nothing to do with the officaial authors except they wrote the base. This is a message board we were helping other readers you gotta not take things so personal -_-
