Despite some people saying this is pointless, It still serves a purpouse for me and if theres others like me then theylll want this program.

Even though I think programming efforts could be put to another OSX program that we don't already have, for 3 hours of work this is very nice. It doesn't even need an installer which is awesome.
Great job alilm. Since it only took you three hours to get that much into it, you might as well keep going and see what else you can do
Wow! Very impressive for such a short time! The graphics look great...maybe make the top border a little thicker- just to give the traffic lights a bit more room. If you can get the rest it worked out (i.e. functioning buttons, menu, etc.), I'd say go for it! Great work.

Video support is added and will play any file that Windows Media Player can play (mpegs, mogs, avi). 
Yeh to clear this up for some people to open files click the PL button.

Very nice.
I like that it doesn't cause the desktp to flash like mad the way Apple's Quicktime does.
One issue I have a problem with though, it doesn't get shadowed by WindowFX.

In version 2, I expect to have resizing and a playlist feature. There will also be a feature to have a compact player (without the video window) which Im sure people will want soon.

WOW! Very nice job Alilm!! The mouse overs are a bit weird but it looks DELICICOUS!!! Read my reply on the other thread. Quicktime for windows is NOTHING like QuickTime for OS X.
Maybe I'm dumb but: Why create an Quicktime clone if Quicktime exists on both Macintosh and Windows? 
Btw: The only difference beetwen the Macintosh and Windows version is the titlebar...

Uh, Cassiel I would like to correct you on this. There are many, many diffrerence from the windows and macintosh versions of QuickTime. If you would like me to show you I will.
Maby you can make a ''file,edit,view.....'' pop up menu, when you click on the litle apple ico in the corner???? just an ide!!

So, let me compare - left original OS X Quicktime / right Windows Quicktime:
O.K. So the play-control buttons are not aquafied in the Windows version. I think it can be done using Resource Hacker. The interface still remains the same. There's only the titlebar and the menubar wich the OS X one also have - but as all of us now: OS X put the menus into the Finderbar. So any other difference to the windows version..?

Yes Cassiel, you are right. Those are the main differences. But, look at the overall look of them both. The Mac one has many subtle difference that make it look much more visually appealing to the eye. I dont think quicktime for windows can be hacked enough to make it look like the mac version.\
The whole thing in general is darker and more vibrant. You cant get that with resource hacker.
yes maybe the buttons could possibly be changed, but it could never look near as good as the mac version does to me. The only way to achieve this is to write a completely seperate program, which alilm has done beautifully so far and will continue to improve.
Also, it's very difficult to get the windows quicktime to play other media files such as divx. I've never been able to get it fully working, and then it's very sluggish.
Forgot about comments:
1. Videos should resize on opening
2. Ability to resize the window
3. When you add other options, maybe you could have a right click function on the video window
4. The mouseover for the play button is a bit off. The button moves to the right. I'm not sure, but I think the button is just supposed to change colors.
Great job man! Looking forward to seeing this app continue development. I'll finally be able to trhow away my zoom player with the quicktime skin.
Yes, agree with Asapin. Also I dont think the buttons change colors on the mouse over. The buttons change a darker gray when clicked on I think.
Also, the movie leaves gaps around the edges. If those could be filled in, great!

It would also be nice if you could make that "PL" button the "QuickTime" button. In the screenie Cassiel gave us that is what the button is. I dont know what the PL button is and I have never seen it. If it is official what is the deal??

You were saying that the lack of the shadow was beyond your control.
I would appreciate it if you would research the matter a bit more.
The reason I say this is that Windows Media Player, in full mode, does get shadowed by WindowFX and Yz Shadow, also WinAMP2 does as well. WinAMP3 can present a shadow if the skin is setup for it.
So it's not because a movie is playing that the shadow doesn't display.
I suspect that the app will need to be displayed within a window in order to make shadowing happen.
Perhaps if you used a png for your gui, which would support alpha channel and transparency, then a shadow could be presented that way.
I speak as a former programming consultant, so when I hear things like "That's beyond my control", it naturally presents a technical challenge to me that I want to solve.
In this particular instance though, it is not my problem to solve or else I would do it myself, also, I said I am a "former" programming consultant. I neither have the time nor the inclination these days to actually program it myself.
