Konfabulator For Os X

Hi all Mac users,

I was just reading this article over at Deskmods about Konfabulator.

Would a Mac user please check it out? It seems like the OS X equivalent of DesktopX to me.

Perhaps someone who uses both PC and Mac would care to comment on this.

Peace,

Tried it this morning. Not exactly DesktopX as such. A collection of Widgets which run from the main program on the desktop. Calendar, clock, weather forecast, that sort of thing. They look very good, but not sure they are much use as you have to minimise everything when you want to see them. Hope that helps.

tourmalet:

What differences would you point out between this and DesktopX?

From what I understand about both, they both have scriptable objects/widgets. Now granted they are two different programs running on two completely different OSes, but to me, the similiarity was strucking.

I'd appreciate your in depth thoughts on the subject.

Peace,

Grusic

P.S. Any other PC/Mac user please feel free to comment.

Basically, its more beautiful than any DesktopX widgets, but its really the same thing. Oh, and the the things are dynamic (eg real-life battery power shown..)

The beauty part is easy to take care of. We just port the graphics. And for the dynamic part, DesktopX objects can be dynamic.
