I formatted my HDD today and I just finished restoring my system to pretty much where it was before. However, when I open a .dtd or a .js or .css file from a .rar file, I can only use winrar's "viewer" which doesn't allow me to save changes, whereas those types of files used to open directly with notepad, allowing me to edit and save them.
Any ideas on a fix?
What if you right-click the files, is there an option to 'open with' ?
Options->Settings (Ctrl+S)
In the Viewer tab, select the radio button for either external viewer and place the location of the program you wish to use in the text box, or, select the radio button for associated program.
There we go. I could have sworn I tried that already and it didn't work, but it does now and that's all that matters.

I have similar troubles with WinRAR.
JPEG files won't open up in irfanView for me when I open them from WinRAR. Instead, I get the internal viewer showing me the contents of the JPEG in text. The association seems fine when opening from explorer.
PNG opens up fine and is similarly associated. I don't want to explicitly define an external viewer.
I tried 7-zip and it opens up fine there. I'd go w/ 7-zip, but it's still lacking the drag-n-drop.
This is wierd. I was able to just open stuff up in Winrar before my format, but now the internal viewer keeps popping up for most things. If anybody has a permanent fix, I'm all ears.
