[release]kazaa Icom
I'm sorry, but no. Just no. I don't know what you are aiming at with these icons you release. It is good that you are learning, but no. I don't think I'd use it because it just isn't appealing at all. Below is a KaZaA icon I made when I made my KaZaA wallpaper. I don't wanna brag, but this icon is usable, yours is not. Try adding a inner glow and a drop shadow. play with the other tools. Really. Just try. When you come up with something that is much better looking, let me know.
Large icons...128x128 - 64x64

Small icons...48x48 - 16x16

I hope you aren't offended, I'm just letting you know that you could do WAY better than this. But seriously, at least try gradients or something. Take some online tutorials, you can learn a lot from them. I normally don't do the things they say after I take one, but I learn what I can do, what is possible from tutorials. Ideas and inspiration comes from tutorials, take one. Go to TheWebMachine, there are excellent tutorials there.

I made this in about 5-10 minutes, I'm not releasing it, just look at the psd, and learn some if you can. Look at layer styles, look at layer blending. Just look it over, and try to do something like that.

I did this to it...but I kept the general effect because that was what I was aiming at, so it goes with my set
You don't understand. Change the settings for the inner glow and the drop shadow, don't keep the default! Change colors, numbers, etc.!

It's nice, not my style though. I think Lou, though right to an extent is being a bit harsh. Cut him some slack, it's a real nice icon. But some friendly advice, I think you should gloss it up a bit and define the edges on the K more. otherwise, nice icon!
I think that's really nice
I don't see why all these idiots are picking on
you, Radiosis, I couldn't do something halve that good. And man that
Icon is coooool. I can't see why when something doesn't suit someone's
style they can't keep from giving out a bunch of lines
All I did was give out some pointers. I didn't go...:
This icon sucks. What the **** are you trying to do?! This looks like you ****ing did this in MSPAINT!
I didn't do that. I'm just trying to help out. Don't rant, don't flame. It's mean. I'm just trying to help.

what I ment to say is, the shape of the k isnt too well made... I think I would try to make it look a bit less splatt, maby take the oreginal "k" from kazaa and liquify it or something, I didnt say it sucks, just that the shape is kind of not well made...
i think i looks great!!! keep up the good work ![]()
This is the biggest conformist site ever ... not that that's bad; i mean we all come here because we may have similar tastes after all. but by no means should we criticize a piece of work that's done in a completely different style ... and by no means should we try and change that piece of work to fit our tastes ... that's brainwashing and i, being an artist in the broadest sense of the word, thirst for seeing originality and new styles in a world dominated by what's "in" and conformist.
great job on this icon ... keep up your unique style.
Alright. Yea, originality is the key, however, if what he is going for is the aqua look, he WAY needs to improve, that is why I gave him a PSD to look at. And I know half of you are lying about saying it's good. Either that, or um...you're dumb. This looks like something that well, sucks. It is two colors with two bubble highlights that don't even match the shape. If this is exactly how you wanted it to look, then good, you achieved it. However, if you are going for that really beautiful aqua look, take some tutorials. Really. In my opinion, this is not good at all. This doesn't suit my taste. I mean other cartoony icons look great, but yours aren't good at all. I'm sorry to break it to you. I'm not trying to be mean at all, just trying to get you to work at it and improve. Don't see me as the bad guy. See me as the "globox" in this post, where I am being an ass so you move it and work at it a little more. I'm not meaning to criticize that you are working, I just don't like how it ended up, at all. Work with gradients, work with glows, work with shadows.
"I work hard on shadows, because I think they can really "sell" an icon - or sink it, if they are poorly handled. The "folder" icon in the LOTR/Third Age set has about 14 individual shadow layers, to give an example."
-Dave Brasgalla
Think about it. Push forward. Work hard. Have Fun.

Sorry lou
No hard feelings ![]()
Well I had a little go at sexifying it using some tutorials and I came up with this, using some of the plastic things, thanks for that link lou, I think if I keep playing with them I can improve alot

thats better...
the bubble looks really good but you could/should make the K less transparent ![]()
but overall it`s a big improvement over the 1st one ![]()
