[help]program To Exit Other Programs

I have to run loads of programs to keep my desktop look cool. But if I run all of them I cant run any game because they eat the resources.

Is it possible that I can exit all the programs I want to with one single click rather than selecting them one by one and then end tasking them.

For eg if I am running objectdock, objectbar, yzshadow, yztoolbar, avedesk and rainlender and I want to quit all of them in a single click.

I have to choose between game and cool desktop but I dont want to choose I want them both.

Batch file containing lots of "taskkill .exe /IM" commands? Just make a text file separating the commands w/ a carriage return and rename the text file to a .bat extension and then you can click that file.

taskkill yzdock.exe /IM
taskkill rainlendar.exe /IM
etc.

Thanks for helping mimeryme but that didn't work.

An error message is dispalyed 'taskkill is not recongnized as an internal or exteranl command, operable program or batch file.

Just check whether I am doing it correctly.

taskkill objectdock.exe /IM

taskkill yzshadow.exe /IM

These two are only lines in the batch file.

What Windows version are you on? It may only be available for NT based systems.

You could try putting in the full path to taskkill.exe otherwise which is: c:\windows\system32\taskkill.exe

he definitely runs XP home edition:

- YZ-gizmo won't work on others

- Taskkill etc are XP Professional only.

However, I guess there's always a so called BackOffice resource-kit for download

that would contain these...

Thanks for helping guys. :D

I have WindowsXP home Edition(SP1 for that matter).I thought that was not required.

I tried to make another user with no frills but if I disable themes in that it is disables globally. And also I have many saved games and tranfering them to another user is a boring job.

I am out on vacation so dont expect quick reply(though I know you wouldn't) :P

dude! just check out the program i linked before, it does exactly what you want, its free, it works, and it doesn't need to be kept running.

1 shortcut turns off a boatload of stuff,

2nd shortcut turns it all back on again.

you may be able to set it to automatically turn everything on when you quit your game - ie. one click for quit+start. (it used to have that, i haven't checked the new version)
