I delete them in explorer but iPhoto runs setup again and puts them back...

humm weird! did you close the app and run it again once you delete the folders ?? At least it works for me. Actually iPhoto doesn't track the folders in real time so you must restart the program.
I guess I'll have to make an album manager window sooner or later ...
When I downloaded and tried to install iPhoto (alpha 470), I was prompted to insert disk #2!!! Anyone else had a similar problem?
I've downloaded the latest Aqua Controls, and searched for a temporary folder that might contain missing files, with no luck till now.

Just a suggestion:
since the aquacontrols come with a striped background, why don't you change the background of the "lower" area to striped instead of grey? Maybe temporarily, until aqua controls come with a transparent background or something.

Can you make plugins to import pics from your drive's or something. I've had a look at the plugins but it's all gobeldygook to me.

Gave it a try and doesn't look so good. I asked jef if he could remove the stripes in the next version of aqua controls, and got no response, maybe the mail didn't go through. I'll MSN him someday about this

I must say the new iPhoto build is VERY buggy. I couldn't even get the thing to start and it caused me to reinstall aqua controls many times. After uninstalling aquacontrols, uninstalling iphoto, reinstalling aqua controls then reinstalling iPhoto I ran iPhoto and I got an error and had to close the iPhoto and on top of that windows asked for my xp cd because some system files were replaced and needed to be restored to the original files.

It funny though, the earlier build worked fine!! I dont know. If you would like to know the exact error messages PM me or just reply and ask and I will give you some pictures. There are a few of them.

On your site it says requires iAppControls as well as aquaControls. But at AquaXP the link for iAppControls is not active. Is it included in aquaControlls? The link looks like this:
aquaControls 1.2 (v144)
[iAppControls 0.1(v35) ]
and the iAppControls link does nothing. Very confusing.

Your application looks great. Not being Mac person, I don't 'get' what the two rows of buttons under 'organize' are for...the ones with 'Family', etc. They don't seem to do anything. I have to admit that I don't care so much for an exact 'clone' of the Mac version as long as it works. Yours seems to work very well. One developer type question: How did you create the nice looking buttons (I mean the non-aqua controls?)
I think I will undertake a nikon plug in...I'll let you know how I do.

Also i don't know if it is in the new build or not but there is an option in the aquacontols in the newest build that allows you to have the aquacomand buttons not to have the white border, so it fits in with the iapp look.

Is it normal to get the Windows File Protection dialoge or whatever its called when you install iPhoto? Right after the instalation finished, the dialoge popped up saying one of my system files has been overwritten and to insert the Windows XP cd. I assumed this was by the installation program, so i clicked OK and let the file remain overwitten. I just want to make sure this is normal so I can rule out a virus doing it.
I had no bumps during installation. Just downloaded AquaControls and Iphoto. Installed both quick and easy.

Because i'm using a french version of VB. Not that I bother using a US version but this is the only one I have. I'll get a US version to get rid of this dll (wich I forgot once again in B470

Jmitch : The problem comes from the installer that didn't prompt and erased newer version of dlls (maybe other language...) Sorry about that, but it's not my fault.

Select the pictures you want to see in actual size and click on the play-like button below the album list. That will do! I don't know what I will do about the double-clicking : this or open in edit mode. Don't know yet. What would you guys prefer?

Not sure I got your question right, bu here's my answer : the thumbnail size you specified in the configuration wizzard is the maximum size of a thumbnail. Every thumbnail is loaded using this default size and scaled down using the slider. Scaling upwards would result in poor quality. Maybe I'll make a sticky right end of the slider load a single image in the thumbnail viewport. What would you guys think about that?

Definitely edit mode with double clicking. BUT, is there a way of adding some sort of picture protecting, where before you click out of edit mode, it will prompt you if you want to keep your changes (ie brightness, contrast, B/W).
I would prefer to have the play button open the picture in a new window, rather than taking over my entire screen.
And, you are probably already aware, that after editing a picture and going back to the organize view a few times, the picture disappears from the thumbnails (and the folder)! And it doesn't remember the edits I made to the picture going from edit to organize back to edit mode. Example: made a picture B/W in edit mode, switch over to organize, thumb is B/W, switch over to Edit, picture is back to color! Switch back to organize, picture is gone!
Also, clicking on thumbnail and hitting edit is buggy. Sometimes, when I select a pic, and switch to edit, it shows an entirely different picture, not the one I selected.

PS. When will you start working on iCal?
The interface looks great! I would not make major changes in the "look/style". The grey & brushed look blends best with almost all other apps. Only minor changes to clean some of the graphic components that overlap. It's a wonderful start you made and the app. will evolve very nicely. Thanks for your work and sharing this with us.
PS. Can't you import some of the plugin components from other photo/scanner apps out there? Just a lowlevel thought.
Stash, you need to show all of the features that iPhoto can and can't do. I only just realised that you can change your desktop from within the proggie. Me like.
A little readme.txt with all of it's current features would make this proggie more recognised for what it can do. It has more features than I thought it had.

I couldn't get rid of the "insert disk #2" error.
At least, I got the new Aquacontrols. Shiny brushed background, buttons background fixed.... cool!

Stash, would you be able to make iPhoto resizable to create a smaller window? -I run 1024x768 and can't resize it smaller. It takes up 3/4 of my screen and is hard to drag and drop things into the iPhoto window...
