I need some advice. I want to create an animated GIF. I have Adobe Imageready. I'd like to make a gif out of some existing video footage. Can someone help my retarded self?
Animated Gif's
This can get complex; yet ImageReady makes it easier...
What you'll need to do is have multiple captures of the video. In ImageReady, you'll treat each capture as a frame.... It's hard to explain...
Example: If you see a dog running from a tree toward a house (in a video) here is what you should do: 1) capture pieces of the video as the dog moves. Save each as an image. 2) In ImageReady, you'll place each image in order within the 'frames'. For more information, try the help system in ImageReady and type in "Animated Gifs"
I'm not sure if this helps. But I hope it does somewhat ![]()
Best of luck! I think this may need to be tagged [help] or [question] not sure, I have a hard time finding the list of tags ![]()
EDIT: If you aren't sure how to capture pieces of the video, see if the proggy you're playing the video in has an ability to freeze and save as an image...
Step 1: open Adobe Imageready.
Step 2: open the video
Step 3: press play in your mediaplayer
Step 4 (*note1): press pause when one frame has been shown.
Step 5: hit alt+printscreen
Step 6: go to Adobe ImageReady
Step 7: paste as a new frame
Step 8: repeat step 3 - 7 until you got all frames.
Step 9: save the sucker and you're done!
note1: Step 4 requires some practice, since every frame is abour 1/22 of a second.
:naughty:
Serious answer: Jasc AnimationShop can simply open AVI images, maybe Adobe Imageready can do the same?
depending on the type of video file, there are programs out there that will extract each frame of the video out.
Here's an example of one http://www.snapfiles.com/get/video2photo.html
(I don't know anything about it other then it was the first one that showed up when I did a Google search for "extract frames from video")
Then take each of those individual frames into image ready and viola you cram them together into an animated .gif
cool banana's, thanks for the replies. I use Premier for all my video editing so I'll have no problem creating the images I need. I just haven't used imageready in ages. I'm always in photoshop or Illustrator. Thanks a lot.
It is easy in macromedia flash
You import the video and after you save it -- animate gif --
Simple
Please tag your threads. This is a [Help] thread.
Also, this is better suited in iLife; not general discussion ![]()

well I`ll reborn the thread =)
there is now a video to gif converter aviable
i thought that adobe imageready was capable of importing .mov files. if you convert your current movie to .mov [i remember using a free program from download.com called fpconvert or something] it will automatically do the frame by frame thing, i made a 26MB gif that way.
the hard part of course is making it smaller!
