name: SwitchTray

summary:

Switch between sets of icons for Mobydock, YzDock & (soon) ObjectDock

instructions:

1) Download

2) Extract SwitchTray.exe in your dock folder (i.e. C:\Program Files\Mobydock)

3) Run it (make sure your dock is NOT running at that time)

in action:

SwitchTray will start the dock and will place a (lousy) icon is system tray.

Click the tray icon and "Add new dock". Every new dock is a copy of the current dock set.

Add/remove icons from every set at will. Switch between sets using the tray icon menu.

"Quit" quits SwitchTray and your dock.

tips:

"Ignore" SwitchTray so you don't see its icon in mobydock

Edit the settings.ini file in Switch folder, in order to change the names of your dock sets.

wow!

this is what many of us have been wishing for!

here are some observations and suggestions;)

1. i can`t find the prog's settings.ini

2. once u right click/click the tray icon the menu won`t dissapear untill u choose an option in it. clicking on anything but the menu doesn`t make it dissapear.

3. mem usage is from 1.5-2.5 mbs

4. after adding 2 dock all it creates is an empty dock and messes up the default one (but luckily i backed up my theme)

5. is there any chance of incorporating this into a docklet? so we would get a menu in the dock (when clicking the docklet icon) to choose from different docks instead of the tray icon.

1. settings.ini is in your "docklets/Switch" or "dockconfig/Switch Item", depending on the dock you are using it for. it is created when you "Add new dock" for the first time

2. that's a known issue. one way to overcome this, is click on the separator and then elsewhere ...or click on the selected dock to "refresh" it

4. which dock are you using it for? i now have 6 mobydock sets without any problems

5. planning to... not sure when, though

For the menu :

If this program supprot Command line , you can lunch it with an command line and it will work.

PS : with object dock , it says : No dock found in this folder (or like this) but it's in C:\Program Files\Star****\Object Dock\ !

EDIT : Owww , it's the fault of NeXplorer ! Sorry , works well with explorer

it's a good idea for setting for witch theme but i think objectdock can do this with an command line. i have 3 themes in ob

my mistake! although it works ok with yz and moby, things get a little weird with objectdock. i'll try to find fix it asap.

objectdock has its own way to save "themes"... how about setting my program to switch between od's themes?

On a side note, when I place a shortcut in the startup folder to "switchtray.exe" I receive a "No dock found in folder" error. I then proceed to click ok. At which point I navigate to the folder and double-click on switchtray and everything is right as rain. What am I doing wrong?

One other quick little question. I was wondering if the switchtray app will ever support the Yzdock "Yzdock.ini" (settings ini) file? I just wondered becuase then I could have a different config for features such as "autohide" or "position on screen". Any command line options in the future?

Rgiht click on your shortcut, click "Properties" and check the "Start in:" folder.

It should point to the folder of your dock (C:\Programs Files\YzDock or anything)

update:

i added some sort of objectdock support. create themes through objectdock and use SwitchTray to change themes fast.

if you want to test it for objectdock, back up your .ini files in od folder first

Ken, every time I switch the sets look the same. If I make a change on one config, it affects the other configs as well. I'm using YzDock, btw.
