Well, i was thinking more along the lines of him requesting links for a bayesian filter.
A question tag goes more with things like "[question] Is objectbar a heavy on resources app?"
It is only a matter of perception anyway 
which is why these tags are pointless ;-)
People seem to like them though 
Thunderbird already has it built in - Tools -> Junk mail controls -> Adaptive filter tab -> check the box!

Thanx Viper. I did have it set up. Not thats is mission critical but do you know if it a bayesian filter. Everything Ive read says its one of the best.

Beyesian filters actually aren't the best anymore. Beyesian filters work by analyzing the presence of certain words that are in junk mail. These words become associated with spam. Unfortunately spammers have managed to get around this by putting random words in their email. This completely breaks the statistics. Also, if your friends like to talk about Viagra a lot, you'll have problems.
Yes, Thunderbird uses a Beyesian Filter, so it's not as accurate as a multi-method approach that DSPAM and SpamAssassin use. SpamAssassin uses Beyesian, tokens, online verification, and a variety of methods. Together, it produces very nice filtering.
But I switched from SpamAssassin to Thunderbird's Beyesian Filter (long story), and it seems to catch my minimal amount (about 20 a day) of spam just fine. It has a much higher false positive ratio though, so I do have to check my junk filter every once in a while.
If you want to set up and try spamassassin, you need a mail program that can pipe messages out (or you need to get the person that runs your mail server to use it on their side). I dont know if SA works in Windows, or how well. Thunderbird/Mozilla can not pipe to spamassassin (which is why I switched), but Evolution (for *nix) can.
