Album covers itself works, but when I try to add album for singles and songs not picked up, they won't show up. I made them PNGs, and title them the name of the MP3, but it doesn't show up. What gives? I redownloaded Samurize, and I'm still getting this problem
[help]album Cover Problem
I've been having this problem recently too. It used to work, and now just doesn't. I've tried putting the png in the samurize covers folder, and in the folder with the mp3 in too.
i think you Cant add covers for ONE song only , or change the album name fot this song

shouldn't the png be named for the album, not the mp3 title?
try adding an album name(make one up if there isn't one) to the tag (like in itunes or a tag program). then try the png titled with the album name.
-watch the spaces too.
But when it downloads the album art, it creates the png file name exactly the same as the mp3 filename - it doesn't read it from the id3 tag, so won't be able to get album names. It gets album art thru the folder the tracks are in.

Uh... i don't know what your talking about, the covers folder in my samurize directory is entirely filled with 'album name'.png's .
100th window.png
a cast of thousands.png
a grand don't come for free.png
etc,etc.etc...
it gets the album name from tropic's iTunessamurizeinfo.dll plugin for itunes. you'll notice the album name displayed on many samurize configs. i don't know if he's using id3(i don't think so), but the plugin's method is irrelevant here.
I assume its the similar for all the other players(foobar, wmp, etc.), though the information is pulled in a different manner for each.
Basically what is the point of having like 20 .pngs for the same album each titled by each mp3's name.
edit: i reread your post, and realized you guys are using the local directory method...
why don't you just put 'em all in samurize\covers and create an album name? i dunno, ignore me if you don't like that method.
oh yeah, spectrumreadme.txt says that some of the local directory methods are skipped for itunes because not fed enough info.
Could you explain it to me a bit more? The old version of Samurize, you just had to name the .png the name of the mp3 you want the cover to show for. Now I have no clue. I already tried to just say the album name, and it doesn't work. I tried the song name, it doesn't work, artist name doesn't work either. The only time I've ever gotten it to work, is when Samurize already D/L an album cover but it was the wrong one, so I just replaced the cover with the correct one
thats weird, when i use album name, it works straight away. ![]()
i just tested mine with a slightly obscure song(so it wouldn't download art off the net) that had no album name and no art. *using crni's cd box config
i just added its album name in itunes(edited it right in the library playlist).
it didn't get the art off the net, so i got the art manually, made it png, then named it exactly the same as the album name (copy/pasted it), and put it in the /samurize/covers folder and crni's cd config showed it after i paused it and started playing again.
i don't know why yours wouldn't. Are you using this with iTunes? maybe its different with the other players?
Maybe check your AdvancedMediaPlayerInfo.opt in your samurize plugins folder and check that you have the right settings in it. If you are using the global directory method check that the one you are adding .pngs to is the same as the one specified in the .opt file.
I finally got it to work, I just reinstalled Samurize fior the ifth time, and it finally works now.
Thanks for the help ![]()
hehe, i should have said reinstall :6
