I recently aquired some burned copies of Mac OSX Panther (burned by the University for my father therefore not illegally) and was curious if you need some sort of activation code to get it to work. I would be trying to install it via Pear PC...I am reallllly hoping that you dont, it took me a while to get these discs.
[question]does Panther Require A Serial Number?
No you don't require a serial.

Did they give you a licence? cause if they didnt it is still illegal. If someone copies software for your father does not make it legal.

actually universities purchase unlimited licenses for their students/employees, so it's quite legal for his father to have copies.

Yeah...doesnt matter becuase burned copies dont work, you have to have a burned DVD or, of course, the original.
There is a work around exe but I have yet to get it to work.
