[ann] Sdl Version Of Pearpc

it goes so fast. it has some bugfixes from the older sdl copies and works good when believe it or not... has 1 millisecond of refresh! download here and put in your ppc directory as pearpc.exe. i have a 950 and it works as good as it did when it was at 30 refresh on the regular one.

What do you mean? You can get it at an Apple Store, or any other retailer that sells it... a lot of sites online have it. *cough* *cough*

Good luck

I don't want to buy it....

Yeah, I know what you meant.

But we're not going to discuss that here. Why not support the company and purchase a copy, otherwise we won't discuss illigal software here. >.< <_<

Dude, it might seem like a waste to buy OSX when you just want to play with PearPC, but you're installing and using it, there's no reason why you shouldn't pay.

If you just want to try out PearPC, use Darwin. It's free/open source, and downloadable. Not as pretty though.

#171749

I didn't know that you could install darwin on Pear PC, I thought it was only for Mac OS X emulation.

#171787

It emulates the PowerPC architecture iirc (hence the name ;) )...so you could even run a PowerPC Linux distro on it :P

#171789

i tried to run the sdl version and i got an error .... could not find sdl.dll

Shift + F12 doesn't work for me. Don't know why. I have downloaded this version of ppc and the last of sdl.dll.

#171825

In order to get SDL version working, you have to have the SDL .dll in the same directory as pearpc

click me to get it

for the latest SDL version (it is currently at version 3), hike over to pearpc.net. download is on the main page, atm 1 post down

and yes, you can network on 10.3.4, you don't have to use darwin to install for any people who are new to installing it. I'm also using a wireless connection and only could get it to work by bridging connections, so hopefully this will save some hassle for some of you that I had to go through ;)

you can have sdl.dll in your system (9x'ers), system32 (xp'ers), and system64 (xp64'ers) and it will work.

Edit: Dang! Beat me to it.

Just download the Darwin ISO off of Apple's developer site.

It's free.

Not much you can do with it really, but hey... it's free!

Now that its faster, its easier to program aqua apps because I can see exactly how they act, and the speed of everything. I can also printscreen into photoshop to get resources and everything.
