[help] What's The Use Of Mail Docklets?

What is the use of the mail checkers ?

I have Outlook Express running all the time on my second monitor and checking mail every few min. so why a mail-checking docklet ?

For people who do not have the luxury of a second monitor.

For people who do not wish to have a e-mail clinet open all the time.

Then there is the "cool" factor of checking mail from your dock.

I have a mail-checking plugin for Trillian, so it's not quite a docklet but it's the same idea... since I'm running trillian all the time, it's already taking up memory, so having the little plugin checking mail for me I find is beneficial over having the memory-intensive Thunderbird constantly running to check my mail. Plus, the trillian one only downloads the headers, so if I'm getting a bunch of spam, I can just let it sit on the server until I get an email worth reading.

That, and I only have one monitor.

I don't receive email often and I don't want to open Outlook for nothing, That why I have email docklet!

Isn't this question a bit like saying "I just bought a pizza, but I'm not hungry"???

If you don't want to use the email checker docklet, then don't!!! Nowhere does it say 'users of OD MUST use the email checker docklet' <_<

users of OD MUST use the email checker docklet (my mail-docklet btw)! It is said now, Viper.

A side-effect of this is that users of Y'ZDock may not use an e-mailchecker docklet

ok ok ok , just wanted to know if I was missing something....

OE consumes very little resources-if any-from my system. And it checks mail automatically and has the "RULES" feature that helps me avoid the tons of crap and viruses today. BTW AndreasV I'm gonna post a question in AVEapss section.... :)
