Releases Comments

I know that there is some beef when it comes to people and releases or Walls or Icons, and the repetative, "Thank you" comments. And there is even more when it comes to people releasing them at DA (DeviantArt) and nobody comments to them at DA. I have an idea, but I don't know how we could implement it. The reason why artist are getting upset is because many members here, including me, comment here at A-S, but figure that here is enough, so I don't comment on DA. What if we could encourage that if people are members at DA, and an artist releases something on DA, then for people to comment on DA rather on A-S. I know that to keep track of member here that are also members on DA is hard. But if we encourage this at all times, then it can probably succeed. And frankly, it would appease both platforms.

However, I know that A-S is trying to go to "written" rules and not to rely on "informal" rules, but there really is no way that I could think of to set this in stone.

Or we could make it up to the artist to put something along the lines of "Please Comment on DA" on a release.

I don't know, I am just on a thinking spree. It happens on occasion.

It is a way, but a dodgy way, as not everyone releases on DA and then there comes the horrid inconsistency that we all hate

A thank you button is comming with IPB2. The "comment on DA" part i agree with. If the artist would rather comments on his DA page, then let him ask for it. This will b better with the thank you button because now, even when an artist says that, people will come and post things like "i commented on DA, looks great!" which is more stupid and redundant.

BTW, why would you want a [suggestion] tag in comments and suggestions there isnt such a tag anyway

Yeah, I agree w/ Seph on his point regarding redundancy. Unless you really care a whole lot for the number of comments tallied by DA, I think comments from anywhere should be appreciated. Just because it isn't counted, doesn't mean it doesn't count.
