Removal Of The Underlined Text...

Would it be possible to remove the _ under shortcut reference the menu's?

Could one remove all references of text with underlined text? Is it possible with a font editor?

I would only use it for objectbar, Lucidiagrande version 2. There would be no need to use it elsewhere because you would have a lucidiagrande font already installed and have this font aswell, like a double up of a lucidiagrande, just minus the underlined text for use with objectbar.

Just a thought. Might not work...

Hmm... It might just work. Im gonna try to get a font editor and try to so it.

well, there is one solution (and I have mentioned it before, I think), and that is to manually edit the lucidagrande/lucida grande font and clear the underline image (make it blank) and save it as a different font (possibly OBfont?). YOu can then use that font for the bar, and it wont look bad, since it is still actually lucida

That is a great idea!! I have been praying that there would be a way to rid us of the ugly bars. But I feared I would have to wait for the next release of object bar.

i don't get it... could someone post a screenie so i know what you're talking about? however, if you can edit the text, you could just change that from _ to alt+0160... that's a blank char.

If you have objectbar you will know what I mean. When nothing is selected it will have; Finder, file, edit, view, etc.... And in explorer it will have those menu's with an _ under some letters. This is because windows hase their shortcuts portrayed with a big fat _.

I was hoping to remove that _ in some sort of font editor and use it for objectbar. I played around for a bit and found everything possible to edit except for underlined text. quite perplexing. Irritating too.

I have had no luck at the moment but I'll try more soon. -Too many new aqua apps to play with at the moment. lol

The font itself does not contain the "_" for the the shortcut cmd shown on menus... its a function of windows itself...

So editing the font itself is an exersise in fultility.

but isnt it defined in the font being used? e.g. an apastrophe will look different in Times New Roman when compared to Arial because the font image is different. Or is it a totally different story with underlines.. :unsure:
