Icons...

I oftentimes can't find the Y'z icons that I find on screenshots on deskmod.com, etc. I see really cool screen shots with really awesome icons on the dock, and they're nowhere to be found! I looked all over the web yesterday and found very few...

:( Anybody have any suggestions?

What type of icons are you talking about exactly? Can you post some links to the screenshots, because without seeing them we can't really help you out.

Sure...here are some examples of ones (similiar) to what I'm looking for...

This one has really cool icons for Y'z Dock...

How do they get all that information on the bottom left of the screen? Even the taskbar (?) on the top is awesome!...anybody have any idea about the information (possibly app)?

Same thing with this one...program on bottom left, and the entire windows theme is pretty awesome overall... The buttons on Y'z Dock is awesome. I have tried to contact this guy (with no sucess) who did all these themes...unsuccessful

Have you tried Deviantart yet? Deviantart

They have a ton of great icons both in the Ico format and the PNG format that is required by YZ Dock. Not to mention it also has other great skinning resources.

Since I'm a ****ie at this, I guess that I should ask...

Do you use the objectdock icons at the deviantART website?

I don't see a Y'z Dock area...

Thanks

Yeah, you can use the objectdock icons at deviantart. It is actually kinda confusing for a ****ie because the icons you see on the docks, aren't actually icons in the ususal sense of the term, they are rather png files.

Some of those screenshots are using a different number of things. For stuff like system stats on the desktop you can use Samurize (www.samurize.com) or CoolMon (www.arsware.org/coolmon). Also True Launch Bar can be used to put info in the taskbar area.

Deviantart is a very good place to get icons. Technically speaking though, the docks work best with PNG files. So if you find icons that you like, try to find icons 128x128 in size, and then use a program to convert them to PNG format. There are a number of them out there, the one I use though is Axialis IconWorkshop 5.01.

Y'z Dock uses png's, not an exclusive format. You can use any icon you want, after converted to png. PNG stands for Portable Network Graphics, and it is relatively small file that can keep transparency and shadows effects. The packages you seen, are just 128x128 png's, which are converted from an icon. You can get any icon you wish in 128x128 in different websites, like my website: http://i-cons.tk

There is a tutorial on my website in the FAQ section, to make png's, out of icons, or you can try Axialis Icon Workshop to make a batch convert of icons to pngs. If you see packages for objectdock, this means that they are only icons or png's, not png's only, you need to convert them, when it is an icon. So not only the "Y'z Dock Icons or packages" are supposed to work on Y'z Dock, it is just a graphic file, thats all. You need to convert icons to png, in order to be used on Y'z.

*ico to *png

Hope this helps.
