[release] Plasma Wp

Sup peoples,

I created this in gimp. Pretty simply, pretty cool.

Go Here to see it

Tell me what you think please. Thanks

You know guys, Plasma really isn't cool. Thanks for submitting anyway; I know some people who will like it.

personally I think it looks more like Flurry than Plasma... just my opinion though

(ps. I know what tool you used :6 )

I gotta say something... and this includes Infinity, too.

Stop taking screenshots of Screensavers / Visualizations and 'releasing' them as wallpaper! Anyone can do it, it requires no skill whatsoever, and your taking credit for them is ridiculous to the extreme. If we all took grabs of fave Screensavers / Visualizations / DVD-Vidcaps and released them as our own works (clearly *not* the case) the forums would be flooded with such bullsh!t 24/7/365. Give it a rest for crying out loud.

Why can't people just accept that they are non-contributors and happily post. You don't have to "contribute" to post. Just post and be happy... what's so hard about that?

Actually, I made this wallpaper myself, no screenshots. I used Gimp. Render a flame and then tweaked it. I'll just take the fact you thought it looked like a professional screensaver as a complement to the fact it looks cool.

So...to make this wallpaper, you did the following:

- Used a filter (Render> Flame).

- Upped the brightness.

- Posted it here.

Uhh...good job?

Apologies if I've erred.

It does look remarkably like a screensaver though.

Well I'm not going to fah about the few brought up things. ;) Just two notes;

• Huzzah for GIMP. Down with Photoshop!

• It would have a nicer appearance if you'd raised the brightness of just the rendered flame (I presume GIMP, like FW and PS, uses Objects/Layers?) - the whole images brightness being raised really dulls the effect.

agreed... a lot bettr with seperate layered brightness ;)

@ji: I don't do screenies of screensavers/visis anymore, did once. Learnt my lesson... Everything that comes from me now is genuine hard work! :6

Ps: Up with GIMP!!!

PS2: ( ) :bye: everyone!

Not the flame, just darken the background. Making the flame any brighter makes it too overbearing (on my LCD anyway.)

Too bad you didn't learnt to spell when you learnt your lesson.

Calm down, calm down. :6

@Globox; I meant from the original (which would of, I presume, been a black background). So the wallpaper would of had the current "plasma" the same, but with the black behind it.

@Infinity; Up with GIMP!! Down with pants!!

Huh? Original: http://www.spymac.com/gallery/show_photo.p...cid=143595&nr=1

All I'm saying is that he should darken the light light gray there (the background), not the flame.

I meant original as in before the image was brightened up (and release).
