[release] Fontselector 0.4

Hey guys,

I now have a beta worthy release of my font app, Font Selector.

I've added alot more features since the last version, and plan on adding alot more.

New features include;

-Customisable preview text (type %fontname to make it show the fontname)

fonts2.png

-Redesigned mini mode

Image10.png

-Redesigned main window

Image14.png

-Redesigned preview window, to show more info about the current font

-Fonts now automatically sort (no more ugly header)

-Added these check box thingys, which will become the basis of installing / uninstalling fonts though at the moment they are just eye candy

-Can now preivew fonts in favourites window directly

Download here

Thats a pretty major upgrade I think, as things go.

Many Many thanks to my amigo Ave :) for hosting

This isnt a bug report thread. I wanna use this thread for feature requests and things only. There are many bugs in the app, I'll set up some bug reporting system soon :)

Wow, you're fast. Very nice again!

Thanks for taking on some of my suggestions. Cudos for keeping the interface clean too. Nice!

The ability to exclude fonts is good (I've got all kinds of strange codepage fonts and dictionary fonts in my list) but it only really makes sense once arrow keys work, unless I'm missing a way to step through the fonts without clicking with the mouse (scroll wheel worked before when the mini-window was one item high, now it scrolls the list).

Any way of making it remember those exclusion settings (tick-boxes) from session to session, and also to pass them from mini to main window?

EDIT: Just checked your post again, I think I probably misunderstood the tick marks - they are supposed to be install/uninstall rather than exclude from previewing?

All in all - sweet :-)

Sorry, I didn't realise.

Just a quick question, are you planning on implementing any sort of skinning engine?

I'm not really planning on a skinning engine because I feel that it would slow down the app considerably, which is one of this apps strengths, its speed.
