[announcement] Apology For Ripping

Ok, where to begin... I have not always been the type of person to lie, in fact I hardly ever lie in real-life. However something made me do it while I was here. Maybe it was that I wanted to feel like I was contributing to the Board, not just saying thank you all the time (no offense to castroman there )... I don't know what it was.

Whatever the reason may have been, I feel that after all of the work I have ripped, the people I have upset and the reputation that has been broken, I have learnt my lesson. If I ever rip others work again Mods and Admin have my personal advice to completly ban me forever!

I also think that Globox deserves a special apology. I have not been very nice to Globox (even though the feeling was mutual), he was probably the one person that made me realise that what I was doing was wrong. Whenever I tried to release a rip Globox was there and I thank him/her for that (probably him).

Anyway, I know it will take more than an apology to make up for the bad things I have done but I hope this begins the process...

I think a rite of passage in this community is to first rip something

then apoligize

then start making some sweet stuff

or at least it seems that way

fire up photoshop and start messing around cool stuff will follow

The problem (In my opinion) with Gimp is that each toolbar/panel is considered a separate window, so there are many windows cluttering up the taskbar. I don't know if you can change this in the settings, but I really don't like it.

I think the best thing to do is go out and buy a Macintosh (which doesn't have a taskbar), and a copy of Photoshop. Anyone have $ 3000 I can borrow?

I used to use the GIMP a lot on Linux but then i couldn't find any proper dl links, thanks for that... expect to see some cool projects soon!

if you turn on taskbar window groupage, wingimp is not as annoying to use. The gimp 2.0 is also a very nice feeling app.

you can right click the takbar entry and minimize all/restore all as a group. I think this makes it more bearable.

Personally, I find that if you group all the toolbars into one panel (so that it only takes up one taskbar button), then having the images as seperate taskbar buttons makes it very easy to navigate between the images and tools, whereas in Adobe I found alot of the times the tools and toolbars got in the way of the image when I was editing it. I like that they can disappear behind the window if necessary.

that's probably my biggest peev about ps... all those damn toolbars are all over the place. i wish they would go to the background when they're not in focus.
