EDIT: For the shadow you need to use an app called Y'z Shadow. Search the forums for it.

hmm.. i remember seeing a VS with the shadow without using Y'z shadow, and you could change it with/without shadow under display properties in XP

not ObjectBar, its VS. how i know i was using it. I reinstalled windows XP but forgot to make a backup copy.
