but then, when you actually compare the speed, kde3 is waaay faster

and the coding is way more professional and efficient

I disagree with that, programing in GTK2 is much cleaner that progaming in QT. Gnome libraries are very wel layed out. As far as speed, I find gnome faster.

well i do agree with telmo on the speed with gnome.. i found gnome to be VERY fast compared to kde...but kde has some things gnome doesnt.. and gnome has more things kde doesnt.... i like them both... gnome feels like a cleaner pofesional desktop.. very nice stable fast

kde is very custamizable.. easy access to things.. very nice themes.... so there ya go.. i like boith desktops.. i dont think one owns over another.. there both GREAT desktops

i use Gnome since i use Redhat 8, i think it is better with Gnome, kde went a little more confusing. While Gnome is more simple and to the point. Of the speed, im not aware of it.
