[ann] I'm Getting An Ibook 12"

YAY!!!

After discussions with my parents on the weekend, I have managed to get them to buy me a iBook G4 12".

Why a 12" iBook you ask? It's because it's the most my parents are willing to spend + it suits my needs well (eg. Unix/Linux shell scripting for school work, testing cross-platform compatibility for my websites, doing school work in AppleWorks (I may get them to buy me Office Student/Teacher edition)).

BTW. This will help me with iKDE as I will be able to get resource files from Mac OS X Panther.

I will be getting it sometime this week or early next week (It comes into Australia tomorrow, so it should come to the local Apple Education Reseller (AppleCentre Canberra City) on wednesday or thursday depending on when Apple sends it to the ACT). I will report back when I get it.

FYI. I am not switching. In fact I have had a Mac for 2 years (Power Macintosh 7600/132).

congratulations, but good luck with the arrival date.

i have yet to hear of a purchase being delivered on time :P

mine was around 2 weeks late.

i think it might have something to do with whether you've modified it from factory specs.

Mine is just going to be a standard 12" iBook G4 with no alterations.

Anyway, the Applcentre told my Dad when he ordered that they will reach australia today and when I called the Applecentre on Saturday making enquires, they told me that they will have more in a weeks time.
