[help] I Cannot Save Transparency...

I know this has been discussed in the past, but I have not found

any hint.

My problem is the following: I am modding a VS and now I want to

replace button.png in stylebuilder. But I have around the button I like

(got from a scratch) the black colour instead of transparency.

Can someone address me to the right direction? How can I add transparency in image in the correct way and how must I save to preserve it?

I tried in Photoshop but with bad results.

Thanks in advance.

some people use pink for transparancy and im not so sure about the .png since ive used png's to mod some styles and ive gotten nothing but bad results. and what are you trying to change in it?

anyway, since your is black, add properties - transparancy, and transparency color. for the tranparency color choose black and it should work hopefully. if you need anymore help, just reply to see if it worked or not

Thanks for reply.

I am trying to make a button "rounded", so I see the upper and

lower borders.

Your help is intended for Photoshop or other software?

Anyway, thanks again for help.

What format is the image you are using to replace the .png?

If you open this image in photoshop and there is black where you want the transparency, change that black to pink (RGB 255,0,255), then go to 'layer - flatten image' if it isn't already, then save the image as a 24-bit bitmap. Then as kidrocky7 said, in stylebuilder if the 'transparent' and 'transparent color' properties aren't present, click 'add properties' and add them, set 'transparent-true' and 'transparent color' to the pink as above.

Try to stay away from using any color as the 'transparent color' that could possibly be in the image itself, such as black, otherwise you might get transparency where you don't want it. Hence, the reason for the pink, how many visual styles have you seen that INTENTIONALLY use this revolting pink color as part of the visual outcome of the vs?

Ok, thanks for help. I have solved saving as bmp 32 bit, using the magic pink.

Now I go modding...

Thanks again, friends.
